What documents are required for the repatriation of the deceased to Tasmania?

The following documents are required for the repatriation of the body to Tasmania

• ID of the deceased and the Tasmanian identity card
• Details (name and telephone number) of the recipient in Tasmania, or the details of the accompanying person.

All other documents, e.g. birth certificate for single persons, marriage certificate for married persons, death certificate of the spouse for widowed persons, etc., are only required for the final death certificate and can be conveniently submitted to the relevant registry office after the transfer of the deceased.

If documents are missing, a temporary death certificate is issued by the registry office, which can be used to transfer the body to Tasmania without any problems.

What is the procedure?

3. You will receive all important documents and information such as AWB consignment note, flight details, photos, etc.
4. The deceased will be properly delivered to the airport and handed over to the forwarding company.
