What documents are required for the repatriation of the deceased to Sri Lanka?

The following documents are required for the repatriation of the body to Sri Lanka

    • ID of the deceased and the passport or identity card
    • Data (name and telephone number) of the recipient in Sri Lanka, or the data of the accompanying person.

All other documents such as birth certificate for unmarried persons, marriage certificate for married persons, death certificate of the spouse for widowed persons etc. are only required for the final death certificate, but can easily be submitted to the competent registry office after the transfer of the deceased.

 

If documents are missing, a provisional death certificate will be issued by the registry office, with which the body can be transferred to Sri Lanka without any problems.

How much does it cost to transfer a body to Sri Lanka?

 

The complete cost of repatriating a body to Sri Lanka varies and depends on the following factors.

    • Place of death (travel costs)
    • Airline freight costs (depending on the weight of the deceased)
    • Fees incurred at the hospital, registry office, cemetery, coroner's office, etc.

What services and fees are included in these costs?

    • Our fixed price is not reduced if individual services are not used.
