How high are the costs for repatriation from abroad to Germany?

If a death occurs abroad, we are able to cooperate with our local partners to repatriate the deceased to Germany. This is often associated with very high costs, so it always makes sense to take out travel health insurance.

The total costs are made up of the costs of the mortician abroad, if there are no neighboring countries that we can reach with the funeral service. Any outstanding treatment costs from the hospital abroad, and our services to the desired airport or cemetery.

The costs here are roughly from 4000 euros and can go up to a high 5-digit range if there are still outstanding treatment costs from the clinic.
